4-Day Moroccan Tour: From Tangier to Fes and Back
Day 1: From Tangier to the Blue Pearl – Chefchaouen
Begin your Moroccan journey in Tangier, a city perched between Europe and Africa where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean. Wander through the old medina, where Spanish, French, and Moorish influences intertwine. Visit landmarks like the Kasbah Museum, and enjoy panoramic views from the Cap Spartel cliffs, where Hercules is said to have rested.
In the afternoon, set off on a scenic drive through the Rif Mountains, arriving in Chefchaouen, Morocco’s famed blue town. The town’s cobalt-painted alleys offer a photographer’s dream and a calm atmosphere ideal for walking, reflection, and shopping for local crafts like handwoven blankets and natural soaps.
Spend the night in a cozy family-run guesthouse or riad, enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner as the sun sets behind the surrounding peaks.

Day 2: From Chefchaouen to the Cultural Capital – Fes

After a relaxed breakfast on a rooftop terrace overlooking the medina, depart for Fes, one of the most spiritually and culturally rich cities in the Islamic world. This journey takes you through rural landscapes and olive groves, giving a glimpse into the quieter rhythm of Moroccan countryside life.
Upon arrival in Fes, a certified local guide will take you deep into Fes El Bali, the oldest walled part of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at ancient architecture including Al Quaraouiyine University (est. 859 AD), tanneries, and mosques hidden within the medina’s winding alleys.
In the evening, dine at a traditional Fassi restaurant, sampling local specialties like bissara, pastilla, and couscous with caramelized onions. Overnight in a riad decorated with zellige tiles and carved cedarwood.
Day 3: History and Heritage – Fes to Rabat
Spend the morning exploring more of Fes. Visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, an architectural masterpiece, and the Mellah, the old Jewish quarter known for its unique synagogue and historic cemetery. Take in the views from the Merenid Tombs, which overlook the city.
After lunch, travel southwest to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Though often overlooked, Rabat is elegant and tranquil, offering grand boulevards and seaside charm. Visit the Hassan Tower, the unfinished minaret of a 12th-century mosque, and the nearby Mausoleum of Mohammed V.
Conclude the day with a sunset walk through the Kasbah of the Udayas, a serene fortress overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Overnight in a boutique hotel or traditional riad in Rabat’s medina.

Day 4: Coastal Beauty – Asilah and Return to Tangier

After breakfast, make your way north along the Atlantic coast to the artsy town of Asilah. Known for its bright murals, relaxed vibe, and whitewashed walls, Asilah hosts an annual art festival and is a favorite retreat for Moroccan creatives. Stroll along the ramparts, visit the Portuguese fortifications, or sip mint tea in a local café.
In the afternoon, continue back to Tangier, where your journey began. Reflect on your unforgettable Moroccan adventure over a farewell dinner featuring tagines, salads, and Moroccan pastries.
