Founder of Berber Desert Trips
My name is Mohamed Barchi, and my roots trace back to a nomadic family living in the remote mountain regions, about 170 kilometers from the Merzouga Desert. Life in these rugged landscapes taught me the values of simplicity, resilience, and deep respect for nature and tradition.
At just 15 years old, I moved to the desert and began my journey in Morocco’s growing tourism industry. This early start allowed me to connect deeply with travelers from around the world and to share the stories, culture, and landscapes I know so well.
Over the past 8+ years, I’ve watched countless visitors come to Morocco and leave having seen only the surface. This inspired me to create Berber Desert Trips—a travel company born from passion and purpose.
